Cath Barrett is an actor and writer based in Glasgow. Following a BSc Honours degree in Earth Science at the University of Glasgow, she graduated from Acting Coach Scotland with a Professional Diploma in Acting for Stage and Screen in December 2021.

Cath is really passionate about Scottish theatre, particularly work that focuses on local communities and the landscape because there are so many great stories to be told from this wee country! She is really driven to create work around these themes and settings, as well as incorporating her love for the outdoors and hillwalking. 

In August 2025, Cath performed her debut solo play, 'My Friend, The Mountain', at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (directed by PCS' own Sarah Rose Graber!) after undergoing a period of research and development in 2024. It follows the journey of Skye, a graduate in her 20s who is navigating the ups and downs of a hustle culture world and turns to the hills for solace amidst her struggles. PCS has supported this show in a producer capacity and it was performed again at Studio Moffat in February 2026, with more plans for the future!

Joining PCS has given Cath the opportunity to embrace playfulness more in performance (Bippity) and equipped her with knowledge of how to make theatre and theatre practices more accessible for all (Cultivate Inclusion). This has had a real impact on Cath when it comes to thinking about creating some of her own work, as she wants everyone to be able to experience the joy of theatre and art.

Cath has worked with companies such as Hopscotch Theatre Company, Chaos Collective, Short Attention Span Theatre Company and Edinburgh Science and most recently featured in the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games as a Baton Planter. Full CV available via Spotlight link.
